What it does
Protect anything in seconds.
Pick an app, a folder, or a single file, set up Touch ID or a password once, and you are done. No account to create.
Lock apps with Touch ID or a password
Pick any app and it will not open until you confirm with Touch ID or your password. The rest of your Mac works exactly as before.
Hide apps completely
A hidden app disappears from Launchpad, Spotlight, and the Dock. It looks like it was never installed. Even apps from the App Store.
Lock a folder where it sits
The folder stays in Finder with a lock on it. Open it and Cloak asks for Touch ID. Close it and it locks itself again. Works like locking an app.
Hide a folder or a single file
Or make it vanish completely. Hidden folders and files are encrypted on your Mac, a USB drive, or your NAS, and come back exactly where they were when you unlock.
See who tried to get in
Turn on intruder photos and Cloak snaps anyone who gets your password or Touch ID wrong. The photos are waiting next time you open it.
Real AES-256 encryption
Hidden apps and locked folders are genuinely AES-256 encrypted. Without your Touch ID or password, the contents are unreadable.
Only you get in
Turn off the Mac password backup and only your fingerprint or your Cloak password opens anything. Someone who knows your Mac login gets nothing.
Lives quietly in the menu bar
No Dock icon, no clutter. Open Cloak from the menu bar, or hide the icon completely and bring it back with a shortcut.
Local first, nothing leaves your Mac
No account, no cloud sync, no telemetry. Locking, hiding, and encrypting all happen on your Mac.
Locks again when you walk away
Cloak locks everything again when your Mac sleeps or the screen locks, or after a few minutes of no use if you choose.
Fake crash
New in 2.0. Turn it on for an app and anyone who opens it sees the Mac's own "quit unexpectedly" box. To open it yourself, hold Option and click Reopen.
Lock on a schedule
New in 2.0. Lock an app only at the times you pick, like games on school nights or work apps on weekends. The rest of the time it opens freely.
Lock the app in front
New in 2.0. Set a shortcut and press it in any app to lock that app on the spot. Handy when someone walks up behind you.
Lock from Finder
New in 2.0. Right-click any folder or file in Finder and choose Lock with Cloak or Hide with Cloak, under Services. Turn it on in Settings.
Open a hidden app without unhiding it
New in 2.0. Use a hidden app for a moment and it stays hidden. It never comes back to the Applications folder.
Seven skins
New in 2.0. Change how Cloak looks: Glass, White, Dark, Bubble, Daisies, Night Drive or Sakura.
